Frequently Asked Questions

How does the World Youth Alliance engage in policy?

WYA engages in international policy by participating in discussions and negotiations at institutions like the United Nations and regional bodies. We advocate for policies that uphold the dignity of the person and promote authentic human development.

How can I become a member of WYA?

Becoming a member is simple! You can sign the WYA Charter online to affirm your commitment to the dignity of every human person. Once you do, you’ll be part of a global community of young people working in solidarity to promote human dignity.

What is the Advocacy Academy?

The Advocacy Academy is an advanced training program that examines the human person in policy, equipping members with the knowledge and skills to engage effectively in international policy. It builds on WYA’s Certified Training Program (CTP) and prepares members to represent WYA in global advocacy work.

What is a WYA Chapter?

A WYA Chapter is a local group of members who work together to promote human dignity and support their Regional Office in advancing WYA’s mission and annual strategic goals.

How can I start a chapter?

You can start a Chapter in your school, university, country, or community by completing the Certified Training Program (CTP) and identifying at least five other individuals who have also completed the CTP. Together, you shall form the foundation of your Chapter. Once ready, reach out to your Regional Office for guidance and official recognition.

What comes after completing the Advocacy Academy?

After the Academy, graduates may have the opportunity to join WYA advocacy work, intern at WYA offices, or participate in the regional advocacy fellowships and other leadership opportunities within the WYA network
