“I came to learn, but I’m leaving inspired,” One participant shared, capturing the impact of the session.
At Kenya High School, WYA Africa is having an ongoing Advocacy Academy Training and Human Dignity Curriculum program, which are both engaging and transformative programs designed to equip young people with the knowledge, confidence, and values to become strong advocates for human dignity and social impact. The Human Dignity Curriculum is a global K-12 program which teaches children and young people about personal identity, human dignity, and excellence. The HDC helps students answer the big questions, such as ‘Who am I?’ and ‘What can I become?’. This grounds every grade level in the idea that all people are equal in dignity, which is a powerful concept to teach the future leaders of our generation.
The Human Dignity Curriculum and the advocacy White Papers, which provide a person-centred approach to global concerns, serve as the sessions’ compass. Through engaging exercises and candid conversations, the students investigate the practical implications of these concepts and how they can potentially be applied in their communities and schools.
In order to assist students in understanding that true growth goes beyond infrastructure and technology and instead focuses on improving lives while attending to the requirements of future generations, the talks started with an emphasis on sustainable development.
As the conversations unfolded, the energy in the room deepened into something more powerful,
With deep self-reflection activities and convictions. Students begin to see themselves not just as learners, but as advocates capable of inspiring change.
The World Youth Alliance continues to empower youth to lead with purpose, advocate with empathy, and build communities where every human person is valued.
